hi, if i disconnect the battery on my marea, what's the chances that i would get problems when i reconnect and need the red key?(that i havnt got!)
many thanks

This has been covered before, when I changed the battery on my car it started fine off the blue key and the radio worked and remebered all it's tuning.

I haven't had problems starting with the blue key when my battery has been disconnected.
I'm pretty sure the FIAT CODE is stored in the ECU flash.
It would be crazy if you should upload the code everytime you have had the battery disconnected, there's several repairs where you need to cut the power...

Cheers Michael

Disconnected my battery today . Used the blue key and ok. Just had to reset the clock. Radio remembered code ok.

took a chance and disconnected the battery for a hour. it started no probs.

I had to disconnect the battery (negative cable) for a few hours on my 1998 Marea Weekend 1.6 Automatic.

When I reconnected the negative cable, I used the blue key to start the car and my car started, BUT, it idled at over 1,000 for a while, and, more problematically, my brake pedal went quite low and is quite spongy. (I had just bled them the day before and they were great!!) I drove for just a few minutes, slowly, before re-parking the car and it did not resolve the problem.

Did I mess up my ECU settings? Help! (I really need to use the car tomorrow!)

Thanks!
