Marea Weekend Fuel consumption

Hello,

I have been measuring the fuel consumption in my y reg 1.6 Marea Weekend 100 SX. I am currently getting around 37mpg, pottering around town with the odd trip on the motorway. I am away to put the roofbars on this weekend and see what difference this makes. I'd imagine around a 10% drop in efficiency. Consumption seems to be very good at low speeds, but on the motorway it really seems to guzzle juice. Is this common?Does anyone else know what they do in their Marea.
cheers

MK

Re: Marea Weekend Fuel consumption

Hi MK,

If you are getting 37mpg from a Marea keep it to yourself or Fiat will want to take it away for research

Stated figures of litres per 100km are:

Model _______/ Urban / non-urban / Combined
1.6 16v _____/ 11.3 ____/ 6.6 ______/ 8.3
1.6 16v a.g. _/ 13.8 ____/ 8.3 ______/ 10.3

I'm currently averaging 26mpg mixed and 29mpg motorway.

Re: Marea Weekend Fuel consumption

Hi,

Those MPG figures are pretty close to my 1.6 SX weekend, i did mange 45mpg once but have never been able to repeat it!
i think the problem?? with the motorway driving is the speed gradually creeps up without you knowing, i've been cruising at 80 and found that soon it's pulling 90+ without input from me, i must add that these speeds were recorded on the german autobahns rather than here in Blighty!!!! i'm getting about 31 - 33 if i really toe-it which isn't that bad really. Just a note, having the Air-Con on doesn't seem to affect the mpg, although most sources reckon about a 10% increase in mpg,odd that!!

Cheers

Jeff

Re: Marea Weekend Fuel consumption

I do 7,5l on 100km which is about 31mpg I guess and I drive about 2000km in the city and about 1600km on the motorway per month!

Thumbs up Re: Marea Weekend Fuel consumption

Marea 115 Weekend 1800.

Around town I get 23 to 27 mpg. On a run I get 34 to 36 mpg - fully loaded and I don't hang about!
