Hi newbie here,
Bought a W/2000 100sx today for my mother.
Have a slight problem. Car starts fine from cold. Once warmed (so expect auto choke is no longer working) the idle sits fine - but when I go to give it a little gas it cuts out unless I give it more gas than it needs over revving- this happens when sitting from idle in neutral - it's like it's hesitating - this also happens at junctions or indeed whenever the accelerator is depressed in any gear at any RPM - obviously when on the hoof it just chugs a little and sets off.
This is a problem when slow manouvering tho and is quite dangerous - junctions etc.
Also during a run out the car cut out at a junction - when restarted the temp gauge sat at the bottom on cold? and it didn't raise for a few miles - but the engine was defo hot.
I've time on Wednesday to look at it - was gonna give it a service anyway, oil, oil/air filters, check/replace plugs, check fuel filter and flush out coolant system.
So... was wondering if anyone has come across this issue.
I thought of a sticky throttle body - or maybe air temp/coolant temp sensor. As said will check plugs and will run some injection system cleaner through it anyway.
Lastly - an ancillary is making a high pitched whirring related to RPM, so something is stiff and resisting the force, I don't want it to get fatigued and break... so any ideas. I thought water pump maybe.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
