take the keys and alarm module from another coupe. you need to keep your immob chips and metal bits to work the locks, but you will use the plastic casings and the remote PCBs. job done.

I'd be more concerned by the fact kids play with the oven if I were you TBH

Maybe I should have finished off what I was saying in my first post the child didnt turn the oven on but the keys were in there when it was turned on by my wife.

Jug it may not take much but you have me confused a bit what has a coupe to do with a Marea. And the bit about plastic casings, the key works all I need is a remote, I have a remote off a Merc I thought maybe it could be programmed to mine but it dosent sound as though it could.

Amazingly when I prised my remote open and put some new batteries in it worked. Ive exhausted local scrapyards and ebay for a replacement fob so it looks as though I will have to fork out £15 for just the casing with FIAT on it although it comes with batteries or I could go the cheap route and get a grey one for a tenner no batteries(ordered some from ebay) both plus postage. Ill wait a few days just incase someone comes across one they dont need and they dont want much for it.

i cant really help with the fob case but i do have a red key from a fiat coupe which is the same as the marea one, i'm afraid the blue key differs and cant be opened.

i did have the old keys from my other marea but they've also been taken, grr

my key for all it has melted starts the car fine, its just the round remote case I need the internals are working aqlright.

i said coupe because i had about 30 tabs open and this one was the first marea tab, after several coupe tabs, so i assumed i was still in the coupe section.

multitasking is quicker, but from time to time you lose your place.

the bit about plastic casing is because yours are melted, but also because i thought your remove PCB was inside the key. checking the pic again i see you have meta style fobs instead.

generally speaking, every system is different, so even another fiat (or in this case meta) remote wont be helpful unless it is from the same system. in this case that is system1, shared by meta kits for the cinq bravo brava marea mk1punto, coupe, 145, 146, 155, mk1gtv, mk1spider and i'm sure there are more i'm forgetting.

Keys are not a problem, just take one of the ones that work to Timsons and they will clone the transponder and cut the key. Make sure the actual key operates all the locks on the car though, it took them three attempts to cut one that opened the boot on my Brava, even though they worked in all the other locks. You just have to be patient about the fob though, you will find one at a breakers without doubt, just keep trying. Don't be tempted to use just the circuit board wrapped in tape as I have seen done before. Without the protection of the casing bits will break off.:)
