Hello all im from italy and im searching for a solution to my problem with the Lucas ABS.

The ABS light is on and i heaved reading the foul code from the ecu with the following result : MODULATOR/PUMP ERROR.

ok i buy another LUCAS ABS unit and the same problem still happens: MODULATOR/PUMP ERROR.

When i start i hear the ABS relay "click" and after 5 second another "click" this "click" come definitively from the pump which make me know that the pump work.

What can i do now?

Hi i don't know the exactly number why i have read the ecu in a garage with examiner.

the problem is that this error can not be delete it is permanent.

sorry, i have never heard of that code before and it is not mentioned in any of the OBD material i have. :confused:

the ABS unit has already been replaced.
 
Did you buy a new unit or is it used?
If it´s new i can´t advice anymore but if it´s old one you need to test, that the pumpmotor is rotating about one second when you turn ignition on. If pump is not rotating and you hear still that "click", there is probably pump jammed and you need to dismantle it and clean it. But still i think you´d better change that motors control relay too, because weather humidity is raising along autumn and i have noticed in many forums that the relay has burned its contactors in autumn.
I don´t know that, are the sealings bad in that abs "ecu" case or is that relay just under measured to that pumpmotor...

no is not brand new ABS Unit it cost about 900€ in italy.
I buy old one but the fiat marea that i was buy this ABS have working:(.

how can test the rotation i should open the two bolds of the magnet motor?

You can check that by turning ignition on and listen carefully you hear it when its rotating or ask somebody to hold the motorcase, it should be vibrating to hand about a second. If it´s not i think that pump is jammed or the relays contactors are burned and the electric motor is not getting power.

Hi
today i have make this test:

1 i have put the key on
2 i have disconnect the battery min cable
3 i put my hand to the ABS motor and with the other hand connect the min cable.

the pump have a vibration.
 
And the light is still on? Try to disconnect battery negative again and keep about half hour coffee break and then connect negative again... Then i think if that doesn´t help you must rest ecu with Examiner...
 
ooh man I'm really stupid, i found out:
I have disconnected the abs from the break lines now and testet with open case "electrical parst" with screwdriver i push the relay and the pump work the reley is damange you right man sorry

i will kill my dealer tomorrow which sell me a damage parts :D

i have got it:D

i clean now the relay and with a screwdriver i curved it little, now the ABS light is of and motor work im so happy :worship::worship::worship:.

i know this is not the perfect solution but it seem to work!

i go tomorrow to the garage where i bought the abs i will ask my money back i bought it 150€. have two pice of LUCAS unit now :D

Hi no problem i receive back my money plus give me 1 liter oil 5-40W.:D

sure i would like to offer beer but they are 2000km form Milan to your city!:)

hello :)

i am from Lithuania, i have Fiat Linea, ABS unit error.
have fault code 5110, maybe your solution will help to me as well? how i can find where is ABS relay in my car? maybe part number?
