i was in work today and was servicing a 99 1.6 marea the customer had complaned that the fuel gauge was not working correctly sometimes it will just drop right down below the red i found it to be a bad earth on the
gearbox and the body after cleaning the straps and rebolted them to the gear box and the body

the first strap is located on the body




the second is on the gearbox



just undo the fixing clean with sand paper job done no more mental fuel gauge tellin you you have no petrol when the tank is full

Thanks for useful post. My gauge has always flicked around a bit between 1/2 and 1/4 full but I think thats noise from the sender.
