Hi all. I need to source a serpentine belt tensioner pulley for my TD125 Marea Weekend (P reg). Fiat want 130 squibs then VAT and I can't warrant that for a 400 quid car!! Just wondered if any of you folks had one lying about please. Thanks, Shirley.

PS, if we can't get the pulley, anyone interested in the car for spares?

Thanks for that, are you able to move it or should I post again? Wasn't sure where to put it.

Thanks, looked at shop4parts but it is still 138 quid with delivery charge. Hoping to find a second hand part - failing that, the car is in pretty good shape if anyone is interested

if youl excuse my ignorance and tell me what a serpentine belt tensioner pulley is I will have a look at my local scrappy Im there 2 or 3 times a week

It's the sprung idler wheel that tensoins the belt tht drives the alterntor power steering pump and aircon compressor. Wil be the same ona Bravo/brava with that engine.

Now that is a useful bit of info - thanks Renegade_8

Bottom, Other Half has just informed me they didn't make the Bravo/Brava with the 2.4 turbo diesel engine :bang::cry:

dont know where you get the £138 from but it is still £125 but if you donated to the forum you would get 10% off anyhow its still a canny bit but Ill have a look in the scrapyard tomorrow now I know its a belt tensioner for a 2.4

Not wanting to be a reaper of doom on the Marea but the Aux belt tensioner is a known weak point on the engine hence good second hand ones are extremely difficult to find and pricey. I know this as my 2.4 JTD is rattling like a rattlesnake!!!

I have looked everywhere for a cheap pattern part even on the Alfa 156 forums and there doesn't seem to be much difference in pattern part to oe part. It's a bu**er of a job to change too, have to disconnect an engine mount and lever the engine sideways for access.

If you find a cheap one let me know

a local motorfactor should be able to get one for approx £75, they are usually half the shop4parts prices.

....nope again, lol they put a 130JTD with 20valves in the alfa, not the 10v fiat version, dunno if the tensioner is the same....

they used the 10v first, and its the same 10v as the marea.

If you are still hunting - my 1.9 TD 100 had this die on it a few months back.

My local Fiat parts place sold me a replacement for £36!

GGB engineering in Bradford, West Yorkshire (yellow pages online should give you the number)

GGB are stunning - have nearly anything in stock for Fiat and Alfa!
