fiat marea 1.6 auto

Hi,
I'm new here and was wondering if there are anyone who can help out!

I drive a Fiat Marea 1.6 auto and few days ago, the car's gear just auto locked. The car was in 'P' mode but it could not be switched gear, and the key could not be removed. Only after a day, everything went back to normal. Does anyone knows whats the cause of it, cause I was pretty freaked out.

The car's about 10 years old btw
