Fiat Marea Jtd130 Remap/chipping

Hello,

Although I must admit that I have very little intention of uprating the engine power of my own JTD130 I am nonetheless curious as to what difference it would make. Has anyone had theirs remapped or chipped? If so what sort of bhp/torque is it now producing? How fast is it? How much fun is it?

My own standard car is good fun even when it is gently thrashed. I have seen upgrades advertised to, I think, about 170bhp for the JTD130 which must result in a car that can challenge some of the sportier BMW/Audi/Mercs of this world.

Cheers

Ian

How many miles has the car got on its clutch? That's an expencive job if it gets worn out!

170/180bhp would be REALLY impressive plus you get that awesome hum of the odd-pot.

Re: Fiat Marea Jtd130 Remap/chipping

As I said in my first message I have no real urge to increase the power of my engine. I am merely curious as to whether anyone has ever done it to a JTD130.

The thought has occurred to me of the additional strain on various components such as clutch, gearbox and driveshafts. Not to mention tyres which it has a fair appetite for in standard form. Besides, with 114000 miles on my car I think I would be unwise to chip it anyway.

loads of people have done it, & it makes a huge difference.
the best part about buying a jtd is remapping it.

DO IT!

The drivetrain should be fine. It's under more strain as standard in the 156.
