Marea Exhaust Omg How Much???

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here, I have a Marea ELX Weekend 2L 20v, has a strange exhaust on it that cant seem to be bought anywhere but from Fiat. The front section on it has the Cat, then there is the 2nd section with a flex hose and the 1st box, unfortunately the flex has blown, got a quote from a Perry's Fiat/Alfa dealer of £350 without fitting, my jaw hit the floor I have been looking to poss get a custom build exhaust fitted like a powerflow, I think it may be worth it considering the cost of just that box, however I have been told that it could be a problem due to the dropdown tailgate (and I do need to use this), does anybody have any recomendations/advice, I am based in Bucks.

cheers

Look on www.buypartsby.co.uk they have mild steel replacements £204 for the lot excl. CAT which is about £74. Theres a company in Birmingham, google stainless exhaust systems, that will build up a full stainless steel system including the Cat for £300.

There are plenty of options and no need to go anywhere need a dealer for your exhaust.

Only thing to be aware of is there are two different types of CAT fitted to 2 litres but both are available.

Oh yes there's also www.onlineautomotive.com who can supply exhaust sections, I had flexible front pipes for my Alfa from them.

Re: Marea Exhaust Omg How Much???

Thanks Nottscharger, already tried buypartsby and onlineautomotive, and loads of other online parts sites, none of them have my exhaust, it's not even in any of the catalogues that the garages use, central tyres and kwik fit dont have it either, only Fiat seem to have it and they are an unbelievable rip off, If I drove any other model of Marea I could get a full system from the cat back for about £60 So looks like I will be getting one custom built. I can get a powerflow exhaust done reasonably close to me in Middlesex, thanks again for your reply

cheers

With powerflow, make sure you get a look at some of their previous work.. The quality of welds can be good, or they can be crap! No reason they shouldn't be able to make it drop-down friendly.

Re: Marea Exhaust Omg How Much???

thanks Hellcat I will look out for those welds, & GhostWKD on further inspection the rest of the exhaust is on its last legs so no point in getting a section welded in, so it's def time for a custom job, I'm gonna have a look around the web see whats what, just got to get the money together now I've never been one for big/sports exhausts, but I must admit I am looking forward to hearing that 2 Litre 20v through one now

cheers

Re: Marea Exhaust Omg How Much???

yours must be special as i dont have a flexy in my system atall, the only problem i find is rear exhaust rubber needs replacing ever couple of months.

keep meaning to look into a poly one

i have a cat back system but its not been identified, believed to be powerflow but no idea really, my tailgate still flips down okay, it does hit it but not by much

Have you tried all the high street exhaust garages? I got a new rear section a couple of years ago from ATS for my 20v, cost £187 fitted.

Hi fiatdrivingfan, do you have the cat under the car or upright at the back of the engine? I got a quote for a full stainless steel system from the cat back for £423 (mine is upright at the back of the engine) rare for 20v so I am told.

Re: Marea Exhaust Omg How Much???

I think my cat sits under the car, not upright behind the engine. I got similar quotes from Fiat, they wanted around £350 for a new rear section. I know I had trouble finding an exhaust company that did the part. ATS were the only company I could find who supplied the part. Its a really awkward exhaust to fit as well, the fitters I talked to hated 20v Marea's because of it. I would have got a custom system but I couldn't afford it.

Bulldog, try www.europerformance.co.uk

They do poly exhaust hangers for most makes and models.
