Hi Guys,

I have a 2.4JTD Marea (bought of this very forum) which is flashing the glowplug light at start-up.

Need to get this checked out as have had confliciting advice - possibly glow plug, or not waiting for light to go out on start-up, with everyone suggesting a diagnostic test first to see what the problem is.

I have taken to ringing Alfa specialists as it's basically the engine out of the Alfa 156.
Anyone know of a decent garage/specialist that can look after it?

Nothing to worry about! Common problem - i have JTD Weekend 105. The problem is post heating. One or more of the glow plugs are tired, you can carry on using car as heater plugs are little used in this country- it is not cold enough!!! they are only on for say 8 seconds to aid heating the cylinders before fuel is injected, if in winter it begins to become harder to start then trust any reputable garage- advice these are excellent! Watsons Diesel in Wimbledon, speciceialst and £65 per hour!!!

i'd speak to lloyd at clovertech in dagenham, he's a great guy and an alfa nut/specialist.

flashing can only mean one thing so read your manual and save yourself time and money.
