Marea 5 JTD SX - new owner seeks advice

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and have joined as i've just bought a Marea 105 JTD SX Weekend.
I'm looking for any advice that you guys (as the experts on these cars) can offer to a new owner?
My first impressions (and the reasons i chose the car) are that it's a well designed, solidy built, very comfortable and well equiped family car.
I previously had a Honda Civic Aerodeck 1.8 VTi but found that it was getting ridiculous to run and insure as i do about 80 miles a day to work and back. Shame, as it was a great car and was the right size for my needs (mainly just me to work and back but often used as the family car at the weekend - our other car is a Renault Scenic DCi).
After parting with the Honda i had a brief spell of madness and bought a Daihatsu YRV (and it wasn't even the Turbo!!!) - why? I can only say that after much medical help i've now regained my sanity and happily parted company with it (and with most of the contents of my wallet to reapir it well enough to sell it!!).
Having found a very nice man at the local garage with a lovely loking Marea JTD on an X plate with 100k miles who was mad enough to take the YRV and £150 i promptly ripped his arm of and drove away in my new Marea with a big smile on my face.
Having made the decision in the space of about 3 seconds flat, i'm now hoping that the problems i suffered with by last Fiat (a 1978 128 3p Berlinetta some 15 years ago - and yes i do wish i still owned it!), namely the electrics being wired by a drunken Italian after a Friday night in the pub and with all the reliability of a set of Christmas tree lights, are a distant memory and cause of slight embarasement for the nice chaps at the Fiat factory.
So far everything seems to work well with the car and the only minor niggle is that the previous owner managed to misplace the luggage cover - but i'm sure a search of eBay with rectify this before too long.

Anyway, back to the point of the message, is there anything that a new owner should know?

Are you all going to give me a hearty pat on the back and congratulate me on a wise choice or will i hear the sounds of laughter resounding round the country from my rash purchase?

I look forward to hearing from you all and will happily share my experiences through my ownership.

Cheers.

Hope the ownership of the marea goes well

turbo diesel is the way to go for economy

Daihatsu YRV's are weird (i looked at one ) - turbo model though

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. The 105JTD is a fine engine and the Weekend a fine 'stuff' mover. I'd say the only things to watch out for is a leaking sunroof (if you have one), worn suspension (you'd feel worn out after 100,000 miles), and of course the UV unstable door handles.

Boot cover should be easily found from a scrap yard or from a car being broken on ebay.
