General dash board stopped working

i have a problem with my marea weekend jtd105 1999 ( t reg ) the electronic trip hasn't been working for months but just recently the rev counter speedometer petrol and temp gauge have stopped working too. evey now and again it just works for a second but then goes again ? it looks like a bad connection to me ? anyone able to help ? many thanks

Bad connections at the back of the clocks is a common problem. Might be worth taking them out and cleaning the connectors.

My fuel gauge does similar things a quick bang on the top of the dash and all is fine for a while. lol

Hi mate

Had the same thing on 20v all clocks not working checked everything no joy,fixed it by turning on ignition and removing fuse 12 after a few attempts it stayed on and still is,i think it is a dodgy relay,hope this helps but i would try the relay first.

No idea, never even heard of the rely going before.

neither have i..but in a link someone mentioned the relay so was just curious to find out which one.

what it fuse 12..anyone? on the cover there are no numbers.
ive tried removing the services fuses and the lights just go out and the dials still dont work.Help needed

you might have hit on something with fuse N012. On the 20valve fuse box and loom which you said is what you have. this info may not be for all models.

N0 12 fuse from the handbook I have states as follows....15amp

1.electric mirrors control
2.electronic speedometer pulse generator
3.power supply check
4.power supply for instrument panel.
5.power supply for remote control.
6.reversing lights
7.indicators.

I have written the above out as stated in the handbook which came with the car.
make of this what you can my friend. electronic speedometer pulse gen???

so all those work off fuse no.12? thats service fuse 1 in my car its a 10a.
thing is,ALL the electrics work,dash lights,indicators,e/m controls,reversing lights etc.I think it could be down to the power supply as soomeone on the bravo section has mentioned :s

Just to say i havnt replaced any fuse whatsoever since i bought the car 2 years ago when it was running fine.
