My car broke down at lights,AA man thought cam belt may have slipped.Took of rocker cover to see belt ,no lost teeth on belt and tension seems good,turned engine over no problems!! but engine would not start Undone diesel pipe at injector turned over engine no diesel came out, just a sucking noise at fuel filter for about 3 seconds .Thanks to everyone that replyed to my previous enquiry .My car is a brava td75 1997 any thoughts would be a help

Did you wind the timing belt all the way round to inspect it all?

Ok, so looks like you have found the problem ...fuel. I have no experience here, but maybe your fuel pump has given up.

thanks for your help kev,when I find whats wrong,I am going to fit new cam belt

There are lots of things it could be, broken pipe, clogged filter dirt in fuel tank ait leak at filter. Just start at one end and work back steadily.

And the first one is there fuel in the tank?

Are you genuinely confused by what I said or are you dissappointed I referred him to another forum?

He was getting no luck here, his post had been up for 24hrs+ with no reply, and in anycase there is no harm in posting the same problem on multiple forums to get the fastest help and more ideas. honestjohn.co.uk has a backroom which is pretty good for getting help.
