Exhaust change on Marea 2.0l 20v

Exhaust is blowing and its well and truly time for a change! Obviously i want something a little more noise and better looks. Fisrt question would be: anyone fitted after market exhaust to the above vehicle, and what was it, how much did it cost, and who did it?
Second question: If i go for standard exhaust system, how much will this cost?

Also, any suddgestions on where to go for the above work. cheers.

You considered a third option? Custom built stainless steel?

Powerflow custom build from the cat back. £320.

I got 50mm pipe, a twin 4" oval, the biggest back box they had and lost the centre box. It has a really lovely note now.

Re: Exhaust change on Marea 2.0l 20v

Do you have a tow bar, or is your bumper still able to roll down? If so that could cause issues for a custom exhaust.

Given mine is a diesel I have no such exhaust vanity problems, and i'm quite happy for it to be mostly hidden behind the bumper

Re: Exhaust change on Marea 2.0l 20v

Got a tow bar. Was gonna have this removed as at the mo, it gets in the way of the standard exhaust being attached properely!
The rear box is supported by a rubber connection and currently, due to the tow bar, it is only attached to one of the two holes available. Wondered if the tow bar might get in the way of a custom exhaust?!
May leave it on tho if not in the way.
Cheers for raising that point.

Re: Exhaust change on Marea 2.0l 20v

The plate which bolts to the underside of mine, and has the fingers for the rubber, is only held with one bolt, and one bulge which holds it in the correct direction. I think it's only supposed to use the one bolt hole. I think the other is for LHD cars where the towing eyelet is on the other side of the car?

This plate has to be attached using a bush to hang it lower when the towbar is fitted.

Re: Exhaust change on Marea 2.0l 20v

Right! so yours has a rubber around the pipe too! Might be why mine hangs a bit!
