JTD oil switch location

hello all,

anyone know where the oil light pressure switch is located on the JTD engines ?. It must be right behind the starter or something, because I cant see it from underneath..

Owen.

Re: JTD oil switch location

Isn't it on the back of the oil filter assembly? That is their traditional position.

Nope, not in the JTD. oil sensors can be mounted anywhere along the main oil galleries in the block, which is why i think its hidden at the back of the engine. Seriously, there isnt much room behind the JTD engine to see anything. God help one if the alternator or starter goes..

Re: JTD oil switch location

What model Marea is it? 1.9JTD 105?

Eper suggests the switch (or a switch) is fitted to the alloy casting that the oil filter screws onto. It doesn't show exactly where it fits though.

Actually you can get to the starter pretty easy. Just get the plastic motor-cover off and unbolt both screws on top and there's one more from the bottom (remove the plastic protection plate from the bottom), from where you can easily remove cables as well. There's not lots of room, but for that one bolt it can be ok.
