sexwee

just collected these little beauties, was told they would be 2-3 weeks but they started trying to deliver them after 24 hours lol.

i must say they are bloody heavy for what they are.

purchased from www.POTN.com and cost £130 inc bump stops.

ment to lower by 40mm but i think you've all seen others with these on and they seem to take the car much lower, cant wait to fit them

P.S lots more stuff in the post

Re: sexwee

I've got the P.I 40 mm springs on mine. Would imagine they will feel very similar. Firm but still comfortable!

Re: sexwee

that was a nightmare

i went out this afternoon expecting it to take me 10 minutes to fit, how wrong was i!

attemped to fit it and sheered a bolt that holds the suspension strut in place

luckily enough i had a spare top mount! but the bolt was more of an issue as i didnt beleive i had one, went out to where my old marea was when it was being stripped and searched the floor for a spare bolt, i found 2 but both pretty rusty as they have been there for 6 months.

i spent a good while cleaning one of them up really nice and then with alot of copper grease i tried it on the spare top mount, hazzar its fine!

a couple of hours later i had the new top mount on and back in the car, now to try get that bloody brace on again.

nope it does not fit without modification, you need to cut a bit of plastic above the ABS unit and then with some forcing and swearing it may fit, i got the bolts all back in and nailed it down tight.

wound the brace up nice and tight and span the locking nuts into place, whoohoo i did it.

Was it worth it? probably not, took 3 weeks to arrive, i had to stip my suspension strut down for the second weekend in a row. and well it doesnt drive that much differently, you get more warning of when the cars gunna let go in the form of tyre squeel and maybe a little more grip but after lowing 40mm on PI's i dont think it was really worth it.

nevermind, atleast i can say i have one now.

Re: sexwee

So you dont think the 40mm drop or the strut brace made a difference? Or if one did then which one, i guess your saying the springs.

Re: sexwee

yeah the springs make a hell of a difference, but iguess once thats done you cant make it that much better, i taken the car for another spin and yeah it holds a little better, i can really throw it about and it takes it but i dunno if it was worth £75.

maybe its not tight enough, i'll have a little play and see.

Cheers,

Re: sexwee

Nice bit of kit you've got yourself there Ryan Nice one mate

Out of interest, where did you get your strut brace from because so far I have only been able to find the Hormann one of the Bravo HGT?

Re: sexwee

Lowered springs on standard shocks are a waste of time. Springs are there to stop shockers from oscilating. So for the springs to work, you need a matched spring and shocker.
Ryan, you do not mention the poundage of the springs. What are they?

Andy.
