Fiat launched Linea in India in Jan'09 in 5 variants in Petrol Engines & as many in Diesle engines

Fiat has a not-so-good, in fact, patheitic history in India. Its known to have no dealer network of its own, After Sales Service, nonavailability of Spares etc

I've a F. Red Emotion Pack

Hello Mr. Vahanpujari,

I think you have not drove Fiat Linea as of yet. Fiat is a great company. Do you remember which companies had their first two cars in India. If do not remember, then here it is:

Ambassador

and FIAT

and no one else. Maruti came just two decades ago. Before that, these two cars made their impact all over India, so do not underestimate the power of Fiat in India as it will take some time but Fiat will move up in the market to compete Hyundai, Tata, and Maruti.

Take care.....friend

Hello Mr. Vahanpujari,

I think you have not drove Fiat Linea as of yet.

Dude - check last line of my post. I bought Fiat Linea Emotionpack Petrol Flamenco Red color 4 months back & am very happy with it.

Fact is my being happy or you being satisfied does not change facts. Fiat has an uphill task in India. However, its working hard & has played all cards right till now. Customer satisfaction & After Sales Service are key driving factor for success for Fiat in coming 1 year. If they're able to deliver that, they'll be force to reckon with in India with their 2 great products Linea & Punto already launched in India

For more details, here is my Ownership thread

In India, Linea launched in Jan'09

Since then I've been a member of an automobile forum

Its a great car with superb ride & handling abilities.

there are small small niggling issues most of which is related to plastioc parts. Are these issues only in India or does it happen elsewhere as well?

- Wiper tank gets damaged
- Coolant tank gets damaged
- rear quarter galss chrome beading falls off
- rattling/ squeaking noise

Linea now sells average 900 cars per month in India. A good re-entry by Fiat which was almost written off in Indian Market

Fiat has also launched Grande Punto in India in July'09. Punto now sells average 1600-1700 cars p.m. in India

Till now Fiat seems to be making right moves in India. The key is After Sales Service where Fiat has partnered with Tata Motors for Tata's network. If Fiat takes care of A.S.S., there is no looking back with Linea/ Punto which Fiat has loaded with features & priced very very competitively.

Vihan I think the day Fiat has its own A.s.s ( not these JV stuff) i would feel they are truely back in Indian market !

I wish we had Fiat A.s.s with all spares available and priced correctly/sweetly ..

Linea Spares are the cheapest in India in C segment. They are also available freely as more than 75% parts are localised in India unlike earlier times when most parts of Palio used to be imported.

Regarding A.S.S., it takes huge time to build network. Fiat has had 2 failed attempts at India Market & a horrible past at that. It would have been impossible this time for them to build the network quickly to launch fabulous product like Linea/ Punto in India. It takes courage to not give it up after 2 failed attempts (remember Peugot which left India in no time?). Tell me - which good dealer would have agreed to partner Fiat with sales of average 200 Palio across India p.m.? Simply the Return on Investment for the dealer would have been very poor. Only the crap & inexperienced dealers would have agreed which is the last thing Fiat needed.

Tata has a very good network & an extremely good work ethics. Their intentions are right, only the ability to handle Linea/ Punto type cars is a question mark. But its observed that they are learning fast. Ability can be developed, intentions can't.

In the given scenario, joining hands with Tata was the best option Fiat had & am it seems to be working in the right direction.

Hi Vahanpujari, nice to see you here :)
Even I have booked Linea Emotion PK - Hip Hop Black.
Nice car, lots of features and is huge risk given the FIAT & TASS and shady dealers.
Yet I am betting on the car, i hope my dreams are not crushed.

I am also looking for mud flaps for same. I dont like the OEM ones. I have seen someone using mudflap from sx4 or fiesta on tbhp, do you know who used it and which brand was it.

Any link would do good too.
