head lights

can any one help please. i owna a cinq sprting 1997. when i switch my side or head lights on they dont come on. insted the batt light comes on ! my full beam works to flash people so does my brake lights and revese. butt rear fog is same problem as lights. just to let u know the rear lights dont come on eaither
any one got any ideas at all ?

i'd hazard a guess at its shorting out, or you have another electrical fault/short thats meaning theres not enough power for the headlights hence the bat light come son

Sounds like something is definitely off if the batt. light is coming on. Am assuming it's not fuses as some bits seem to work OK that you think would be linked in with bits that don't, but it might be worth checking them over anyway to eliminate that one. I agree with Paul to check that bulbs and (visible) connectors are all in one piece. Beyond that, if you're not comfortable with wiring (and that's as far as I would go myself), get someone who knows a bit more to take a look.

ps. has this come on all of a sudden and did anything happen that set it off?

Cool Re: head lights

is the engine running when all this is going on?does it start 1st time with a good turn over of the engine?if yes switch/earth fault or a relay.all the bulbs cant be gone.not all lights are on the same fuse.fail safe.
