Stop/start

Stop/start

Not on my car. It works when the computer says there is enough juice in the battery to power all the ancillarys regardless of what is switched on.

For a number of months it stopped working because I was doing practically constant slow city driving, and consequently not putting enough charge into the battery. A run of nearly four hundred miles cured that and its back to normal again. I did run it past the dealer before this journey as I wondered what was going on and they told me that this was normal for my car as I wasn't putting enough charge into the battery, and I believed them. My last car was a diesel and I did more miles in it, so the S/S only dropped out once or twice.

Having said all that, I usually switch it off every time I start up because I want the A/C on.

Stop Start has a mind of it's own.

The is a list as long as you arm as to why the ECU will not implement that start/stop despite being button enabled to operate.

The two most common reasons are:

o Battery charge condition including vs expected demand (recharging, load, etc)
o Cabin comfort demands - state currently outside of set/demanded parameters

Mine rarely works :)
