Please I need advice?
I have a Fiat 500X, which I love, had a Fiat 500 POP before.
Anyway, the X is a 15 Plate and it was recently valeted, the lovely chap pointed out that my alloys were "milking", he used the word oxidising and explained what this that meant. He said he had seen it before many times because of the type of alloys I had. He told me that I should get them checked out and they should be replaced under warranty.
Phoned Arnold Clarks and told to bring the car in and they would check it out, they took photographs and said they would send them to Fiat, also at the same time I was told by Arnold Clarks that the warranty was not in my name and that I may have to pay an administration fee or I might not get a warranty!! I was also told by the male in the service department that in twelve years he had never heard of alloys "milking"/oxidising, told me it was wear and tear, I have only done 16,000 miles, he said it would be stones on the roads!!!
So today I have heard back from Arnold Clark. My car is to be booked in and the alloys taken off and sent away somewhere, I'll be without the car for 4 days or so. If I want a courtesy car it will cost £12 a day!!
I want to know if under warranty instead of resprayed or whatever that I should be getting the alloys replaced. I have phone Fiat directly to complain and ask why I am not getting them replaced as I feel they will only oxidise again as they are mot good quality alloys???
Would appreciate advice, I am so annoyed!
