How much would need to be done to make this 'Europe-ready' I wonder... https://www.autoevolution.com/news/f...on-118281.html

Re: Fiat Argo

Looks like a little version of the tipo, wouldn't be surprised if it gets rebranded as a new punto with some European marketed updates

I thought that. I guess it depends on how much engineering would make it 'Europe ready'. It seems to be using the new Firefly engines which I thought were destined for Europe after a South American launch. I wonder how it will cope with the 3D roads in the UK?

I suspect South American roads are worse than ours!

True! That's why they have vehicles like this designed, apparently, with cobbles and dirt in mind http://www.allpar.com/trucks/ram/ram-700.html

Re: Fiat Argo

To me it looks like possibly the next Punto, but the write-up suggests it will compete with Ka. So how big is it? Is this Ka+ size, or Punto size. If Ka+ size, makes no sense to compete with Panda, or take sales form 500 by having more doors.

Re: Fiat Argo

I think it looks Punto sized. Like @AndyRKett said it looks like a small Tipo. I really wish they would bring out a new supermini over here.

Re: Fiat Argo

Saying it's Punto sized though is a bit misleading, the Mk1 Punto was only slightly longer than the 500 (and 2cm narrower!). I'd like to see Fiat do another small car which is actually small.

How small is 'small'?

126, Cinq, Sei. Something along the lines of what the Japanese call Kei cars.

Re: Fiat Argo

Difficult to look even acceptable in the crash tests, so everything gets bigger.

Yes. Smart manage it though. However their cars aren't cheap and still not as well packaged as a MK1 Panda for example. Possibly, as you say, because of all the crash protection.

The way car sizes are going by the time this arrives the KA will be competing directly with the Range Rover and the Range Rover will need an HGV Class1 license to operate.....

This car, all 16 feet of it fits into a standard garage, with just enough space to walk alongside and get in. Although in its present state, you really do not want to get in.
Pic shows it on its way to new owner, restoration estimate 100,000 and 5 years, value then around 30-40k.
Glad to see it go. Best of the lot, only 6 more heaps to shift. Two will crumble as they move, so even a scrap collection is difficult.
