MOT failure sub frame worn and seriously weakened Offside Failure. 47 000 miles on clock!!

Problem is do I repair or sell as project for someone. The external bodywork is good but obviously underneath well another story!

Very easy to change subframe for a good used one.
That's unusual phrasing on MOT
Ask garage of its is a subframe bush that's seriously worn or weekend. Rather than the actual subframe.
A bush is bit like a rubber block.
If it's just bush ask garage how much they want to replace it.

Thank you for replying. My father and I are going to take to another garage for a second look. It seems that the 'cups' which hold the suspension Spring is corroded badly and apparently is all one piece on the back subframe?!

Yes. Appears to be a relatively issue. The small drain holes fill with mud and the water / damp then just sits there letting it rot away.

Did my 2004. Thankfully the holes wew still clear..so had surface rust only.

LONG THREAD about beam replacement in 500 section.

Thank you for replying Charlie.'welding has been done but I will bear this in mind! Seems that it is only the one side which is badly corroded the rest underneath is in quite good condition ! And I will have a read up
