Ok. So after much waiting for my new car to be built and delivered. It arrived on Tuesday.

But since I have had it I have noticed a scratch on the gear shift knob. That looks like something has rubbed against it (apart from me the only other person to drive it was the person delivering it)

A thread has already freyed from the seat drivers seat. What's more annoying is the fact this is in such an obvious place. It's like right in the line of sight when you open the door.

What are my options here if any?

Sadly, the gearknob scratch could have been caused by you, the delivery driver, or anyone before that from production to transport, etc. If not noticed on delivery, you cannot prove it wasn't you, so unlikely to get a replacement.

The seat thread might be easier, if it is obviously poor build. If however there is any damage, again, like the gearknob, impossible to say when it occurred.

You know that bit of paper you signed when you accepted the vehicle?

Up until you did you could point out things like that, after that there's no proof the scratch/thread was there before and they're not something you've done since.

Hi,:)
I'd spend a half-hour going thoroughly around the car..,
just to get a bit of a list together..,

my car was kept in group stock for a month before I got the "new year" registration,
there were a couple of missing covers I spotted , so they replaced them before the big day - 1st of the month,
went to the 1st ever Midlands Italia meet on my 2nd day of ownership , and somebody spotted some REALLY poor paint ( right next to the front No. plate)
:bang:
so it got a mention the following week , all was sorted,:)
happy for another year..then the forum mentioned poor paint on the alloys - checked mine .. got all 4 replaced under warranty(y)

have a calm face to face chat with the dealership, explain that you've spotted / been shown these few marks, and see where it goes.
the seat SHOULD be covered without issue,
gear knob.. hopefully they will do it as "good-will" anyway,
but NOT an expensive fix anyway..,

Charlie - Oxford

Thanks for your reply! Sorry for late one.

I took it to dealership but they weren't so bothered about fixing it. I am living with it and have forgotten about it really.

I'm probably going to look for new seat covers as I'm a stickler for keeping things prestine!

Loving the fiat and polishing it every day...which I know is obsesive not to mention the fact I have a handheld hoover in the boot!

I did find that fiats customer service isn't as great as I expected. Nothing by apples standard anyhow. Car went in for a recall on engine washer few weeks back and the loan car they provided was extremely dirty and not pleasant inside!! Was ashamed to be seen in a dirty fiat!

A fiat deserves all the love it can get. After all it does make me smile everyday. How can anyone treat one so bad!
