Hi guys, I'm New to the forums after being on them Many many years ago when looking for a cinquecento.

Basically I'm 27 years old and last I smashed both my heel bones at the same time. I'm just about getting General movement back and getting an auto seems to be the next sensible step in recovery. It's not that I cannot drive a manual, just the less stress of biting points and hill starts etc would give me a much more painless driving experience. It needs at least 4 seats, and economy is better than speed for now, although if a 500 abarth came up at £6500 I'd snap it up. I like the look of 500s, I know they're girly, but I like the retroness of them. How do they fair on a longer trip, maybe to Europe? Is dualogic a liveable gearbox?

Hi, :)
I've got a dodgy leg / ankle, :(
and now have a car with CruiseControl,
you can basically use it as an accelerator once you are moving ( but NOT involving feet on pedals).

the 500 is cute but small - 4 up for any length of time will be hard work ,

the GP's are now pretty cheap, and potentially better specced..esp. for a set price - as the 500 is still well overpriced for what you actually get..

compare the almost identical Panda ( and ford KA)

The need for 4 seats is basically I have two young boys that may be with me at times, mostly it'll just be me on my own though, which is why a small economical car seems to make sense for once.

Hi, I've just put my Panda in part ex for another car , but it's not due for another month, so I could possibly opt out of the part ex.
It's a 1.2 Panda Eleganza semi auto,under18,000 miles , 2010 vintage, fitted with Dualogic box and , probably good for you ,fitted with state of the art ,hand controls. These are Guidosimplex 906 and 907 (look up on internet to see how they work) . I,ve been driving 11 years on these controls ,and been to S.of France . It took me 20 minutes to get used to accelerator ,but somewhat longer to get used to using a hand lever to brake under emergency conditions : but now ,after 11 years on hand controls, can't even park my wife's car in our drive. It's tested to next March ( I think ) could confirm . New cam belt at 14,000 . good service record.

panda is a solidly built. better all round car..,
but without ANY "cool".

my 2004 panda is still on all it's original bulbs, :worship:
only electrical items are 2 x batteries, and a pass. airbag switch I broke,

the 500's have a lousy design of tailgate that breaks the cables..:bang:
and a cramped cabin - only 2 door.

we keep looking at the 500 .., but I cannot justify another £3K on a car that's no better - built in the same Polish factory..;)
