I don't know if anyone saw the news footage of the Pope arriving in the US for the Papal visit.

With black 3.5 ton armoured Chevrolet Suburban Secret Service cars to the front and the rear, His Holiness was in a black FIAT 500L, which almost disappeared between the huge 4X4s. Anyone on here who drives one must be feeling quite blessed today.

I couldn't help but imagine the scene in the Secret Service car behind:

"What you got planned for the weekend Hank?"

"Got me a really hot li'l filly lined up Chuck, whadabout you?"

"Think I might just cruise the singles bars good buddy, holy s**t Hank, look at the ass on that chick over there!"

"Goddamit Chuck you're right there, that is one beee-utiful piece of a...."

"HANK!!!! Watch out!!!"

"Oops. Hope there was no-one important in that liddle biddy import. Didn't see it under the hood. Good job we were in a SUV made in the good ol' US of A."

I have to laugh at the reports of the "Tiny FIAT"..

I think it's a matter of context. Next to a Chevrolet Suburban even a Land Rover Discovery is a compact. Having said that, it can't have done FIAT's publicity department much damage.
