Hi there

Does anybody know what the best engine and gearbox combo I can put in my 128 3P to give the maximum fun without having to mess about with changing the mountings etc?

I have seen that the Mk1 Turbo is possible (if I could find one)
What about the 1.4 Turbo.... Is that possible?
Or the 1.6 Lancia Delta GTIE?

Or do you think that I should keep the original engine in the car?

I would really like a little pointer

I would stick with the original engine. It is highly tuneable and responds well to a few mods. My own 3P had an Ashley exhaust and a single weber DCOE. It went well enough to surprise a few supposed fast cars.

Ahhhh very interesting, so the single webber is better than the twin - is that due to the throat and I am assuming I would have to change the inlet manifold? I would rather keep the original engine so that's good (I say that even though I have no bumpers haha!). But anyway can you think of any other tweaks that maybe a good idea? Ooooops I have just looked up the DCOE's and can see that they are beasties! These are the ones I have seen on the race prepared ones on YOUTUBE hmmmm nice! Do you know what size ones I need to get as I see there are a few different types and are the manifolds difficult to get hold of? Ta

IIRC I used a 40 DCOE. I used to source my parts from Subito in Derby, but I think that they are long gone. You would do well to contact Middle Barton as they can source most parts and usually have some used parts.
