Oldies but goodies

I must admit they do look tempting but you'd have to be aware of some of the work involved. But, if you've got a decent sized garage and the time, then you could take your time and pick up the bits and pieces as you go.

It was the 131 that caught my eye though. Every so often if you go to Italy you will see an immaculate older but fairly basic car like this and although not being the most expensive around, are often the rarest

We were in Menorca a couple of years ago and saw what I thought was a 131 estate but realised the roof was too high. It turned out to be a decommissioned hearse, and a SEAT to boot. I chased it through the streets (the traffic was very slow) and finally got a couple of pics which, if I can find them, I'll put up on here.

Of course that was a lot simpler when these cars were new. You took the pictures, took the film to the shop, waited a week and then, if you hadn't cocked up the exposure, examined the prints (or slides) then went back into the shop and asked for some copies, waited a week and then posted them to whoever you wanted to see them.

Then you rang them up to see if they'd arrived and if they hadn't, went back to the shop to get more, then................

Actually, it wasn't really simpler at all.
