hi all;i got few issues with my lil red punto1) Heating not working neither builtin tap/radio..though i got big intena on the roof

2) when i try to change the gear from 2nd to third i cant sometimes it just stuck.. or make noise, quite scary ones.3) now from the last couple of days it makes some noise krrrrrrrrrr...when i start it. and it keeps ON until i change the gear to 4. I KNOW it requires some attentions and time

, but before going to some garage i felt to get better advise as i m a new driver, i bought this car back in october,it was all fine, but lost heating in Dec & didnt check the radio or tap... bcz i dnt use it.. but now it gettings annoying.ur help will be appriate...RegardsUzi

Best posted in the Punto Mk2 section -- without the text speak.

Most important thing -- heating not working usually means you have an airlock in the cooling system. Needs bleeding. Guide to bleeding in the Guides (top of page).

Hi All
I got a few issues with my red punto
1)Heating not working
2) Radio / Tape deck player isn't working - but got a big ariel on roof
3)Having issues when changine from 2nd to 3rd, its stuck or makes a noise - quiet scary ones
4)When i start it, it makes some Krrrrr noise, does this until i change to 4th gear

I know it require some attention, i want advise so i dont get ripped off by a garage as im new driver, only got the car is OCT
The Heating conked out in DEC
Dont know how long tape deck hasn't worked, due to never using it
All these faults are niggling me and want to sort them

1. Does the heating work any speeds? or only 4? do you side lights come on instead of the fans?
2. What doesn't work on the radio? Doesn't switch on? says code?
3. Struggling from changing to 3rd, is it just as bad as going from 4th to 3rd? as that ""horrible"" noise is it grinding to finding a gear? if so sounds like a dead syncro ring
4. This krrrr noise - hard to tell what you really mean - Do a video - wack it up on the good olde youtubeicus and lets see if we can get you sorted

The krrrr noise, i first thought maybe fuel pump ? as mine has a constant whine while the engine is running, although seems to work fine. Or . . .

Since you mention it goes when you change it to 4th, could be gearbox input bearing. Common with these gearboxes, did it start out in 1st gear and gradually over time work its way up through the gears ?

Do you mean the fans run with cold air, or heater fans dont work. If they run but with cold air try to get it sorted asap as running the car with an airlock could cause further damage.
