Fellow Fiat enthusiasts,
Over the years there have been many notable Fiat models. The one that is dear to my heart is the 1981 Fiat “Limited Edition” Spider 2000. This limited production run of 1,000 metallic champagne coloured vehicles celebrated the 50 year association between Fiat and Pininfarina and is sometimes referred to as the Anniversary model. In the late 1990’s a vehicle registry was established to source and record information on as many of the 1,000 vehicles as possible.
I would like to commend the efforts of the registry founder (Roger Hoffman) and in recent years Sam Sciancalepore for there efforts and the support the Fiat community has provided them with. Today the registry contains information on more than 250 of the 1,000 “Limited Edition” vehicles produced some 30 years post manufacture.
I am Geoff Elletson and I have recently taken over the registrar responsibilities from Sam. It is an honour to facilitate this role and I look forward to carrying on the great efforts of the previous registrars. Over the coming months and in conjunction with the Fiat Car Club of Victoria certain aspects of the registry will be included on their website.
