Hello people.....

I am hoping that somebody who reads this may be able to help me and shed some light on removing the dash from my Cinq Sporting.....

I am planning on spraying the dash matt black and the cowling that goes on top broom yellow.

So far I have removed the cowling, heater vents, stereo, the bolts from behind the heater vents, the big chubby screws from the middle of the dash, electric window switches, dials, etc etc.....

I am now stuck as to where else the dashboard is connected to the car, I have looked in my Haynes, but nothing about removal of the actual dash.

Not in a hurry to go ripping the dash out as the Cinq is off the road till the end of August, but would be extremely grateful of any helpful advice from other forum members.....

Cheers Guys x

The dash is made from polypropylene so it will need a specialist painter who can do the flaming technique and get the tack primer on without stripes & ridges.

Flocking can work with the right high temperature adhesive. See http://www.frost.co.uk/flock-colour-trim-kit.html

Or get some leather or vinyl or suede stitched up to suit and glue that over. Nylon lycra swim suit fabric works well on exterior curves but getting it into hollows is a bit more "interesting".

Hello WhiteSei....

I thank you for you response. I will certainly take a look at that link and see what options there are for re-trimming the dash.

As I am on a really tight budget though, my other option I considered was to paper and mask everything up in the car, and then clean the dash up and just spray it matt black with a rattle can instead of having to remove the dash.....

I will take some pictures when I have got it all done and hopefully post on the forum :)

If budget is tight, seriously dont do it or do the vinyl/lycra options. Nothing sticks to PP they even use it for superglue bottles. Paint will simply flake off.
