air bag light came on in dash board

hi to all
i have a fiat brava year 2000.
two weeks ago i took off the horn pad which includes the air bag because
one of the points of the horn broke and i fixed it.i followed instructions
on how to dismantle and refit the airbag in place.
all went well then but two days ago the air bag light in the dash board
came on.i took it off again to check maybe the socket if i have maybe
not inserted it correctly or not but all was correct.
the light is still on and my friends are telling me it me be the e.c.u
of the air bag system.

i had a similar problem with my mk2 punto, the connection came loose inside the glove box (at the back), have a fiddle around in there see what you can find. 2 yellow connector blocks

Any work on the airbags system should be done not less than 30 minutes after you have disconnected the car battery.

If the airbag circuit gets disconnected when the battery is connected to the car, the system will shut down and show the red light. Even when you fix the fault the light will stay lit until its reset in the body computer.

Either get suitable lead for you car along with FiatScan software (full price version) or take it to a Fiat dealer/specialist.
