We were lucky enough to find a Berlinetta in a garage that the owner wanted rid of so we bought it.
I love retro cars so this is right up my street and from a bit of reading it sounds like these cars were pretty quick back in their day.
I also read that they are eligible for historic rallies - does anyone know if that is true??
Ours is a 1978/79 model.

If anyone can point me in the direction of some more info on this model or tell me anything interesting I'd really like to hear it. :)

Here are a couple of photos:

that looks lovely. is it as good as it looks. whats with the bull bars though.

It seems pretty tidy to me. :) Theres a few obvious bits of filler but it's certainly not a rotbox.
No idea what the Roo Bar is in aid of - I guess the previous owner decided to accessorise it a bit. After a bit of reading - it seems to be missing a spoiler as well...

Can't really tell from those pics, but it looks better than a 31 year old car has a right to. I would have expected to see some corrosion around the front turrets which look to be clean. Are there rubber plugs/bungs in the door jambs and elsewhere that would indicate it had been treated with Zeibart or Waxoyl?

I'll look in my lock-up and see if I have a catalogue I can scan for you. No promises though.

that is in amazing condition for a barn find

welcome to the forum :)

Thanks for your replies. :)

I used the term 'Barnfind' a bit loosely. It was more a 'Garage-find' that had clearly been well loved. I believe it spent part of it's life in the South of France so that might explain why it hasn't succumbed to as much rust as some others have... I haven't checked for rubber bungs but I will give it a look.
It's definately got a bit of filler in it though so I guess that could be hiding a multitude of sins...

Well that was the shortest lived project in living history.

Due to a ****ty letter from the council accusing my mate of operating a business from his house he now has to shift all his abandoned vehicles from on and around his property... (n)

I guess his neighbours weren't big Fiat fans.

It is now on eBay if anyone is interested... :(

I'll post a link to the auction...

Here

MODs please remove this if ebay links aren't allowed. Thanks. :)

Hi Beardy,

Sadly it is not a 3p but an earlier model launched in 71 (128 coupe) with an 1,100 engine as standard and the more powerful 1,300 was an option.
I believe the 3p was similar from the door posts forward.

Did you manage to sell it on ebay?

I hope you did well. If it didn't sell, what sort of money are you requiring?

Right so got one at last. All electrics work and it runs beautifully. Its the same colour blue and I have some original stripes to attach when done.
I cannot find a picture of one with these stripes and the word 'Berlinetta' on them. It was what i had originally in my youth and i do have pics of my own.
If i get this right will it be the only Berlinetta with the actual word Berlinetta on the car ?

Hi. This 3p is now mine ? I bought it about 6 months ago and I'm currently doing a complete restore on it ??

Nice, if you have some good pics (before and after) and a shop you'd like to highlight, send me an email and we can feature it on Second Daily. Just featured a couple of resto jobs on a MGB and a Spitfire. Need to give the Fiats some love. email is on my second daily website. Just google Second Daily Classics (still can't post links).
