no leads for 3 pin like mk1 puntos then? i see they are listed in the soft ware.

In ePER there's a Grande Punto International listed so I suspect INT is an abreviation for international. I've no idea what model a punto INT (ernational) is though.

Generaly when something says, for example, Punto 03, it means the 03 model, ie 03 on.

Whether FES connects or not depends on what ECUs the car has. If you try connecting to a different car than the one selected it shows a message something like "Wrong ISO code, do you want to continue anyway? Y or N"

You could try working through the list of Puntos pressing "N" until you don't get the message, then you would know which one you have.

oh got it now that must be right '03 is 03-
because he lists all mk1 by number
then '99 must be mk2 because it has the 1.8 and 1.9 Turbo

what am i doing wrong? i have the gendan set ( eventually found it delivered to under car in garden, but thats another story), i plug in the elm set port same as in device manager set speed same as in device manager, did test and it was ok, then whent to do proxy alinement and it kept saying error check lead and port setting, dont think it needs adapter i tred them anyway got same message.
whent back to setting doubled checked them they seem right, tried to run the test again and it says timed out.

think i am using right lead



only 1 light is on on the blue box and that is power light, and ignition is on

edit car is punto mk2b 2005 1.2 8v

but if i click scan, it says scanning for modules, then done!

I have exactly the same problem Dave let me know if you work it out im using the gendan kit but it wont connect to our multipla cannot try it on any of my other five fiats as they all too old!

Latency is too high
I'm pretty sure (okay i haven't played in a while) That latency has to be as low as possible
I Just selected 1 - and it worked

I have set port speed under the test button to 38400

I have set latency to 1



test elm connection now works


i am still getting error check cable and port settings when trying to do proxi alignment


the error message is slightly different to yesterday



and all the lights on blue box flashed like a disco

send error report to yanni, no problems with software detected.

battery on problem car reading 12.20v

tried it on my car, it conected fine on my car 2001 punto 16v
so ive put battery from problem car on charge hopefully its just that.

I charged battery for problem car it read 13.9 volts after i let it settle after charging, put it back in the car and dash display stopped flashing so i didn't need proxi after all :bang:

Your Battery Stopped you proxy-aligning the dash? sounds odd
But the Battery Recharged realigned it all? :S

At that you have a bigger battery in yours lol

Ah right - Still seems weird how a low battery stops the system been updated?
Or is it a failsafe feature to prevent the battery dying while an ""update"" is been applied? like you get on the Sony PSP?

i dunno but yanni said it would be battery and it was, maybe the elm needs full power?


ah battery fixed dash flashing but not elm connection, yanni reckons could be bad earth some where or noise on can line
