just come cross this http://www.petrolprices.com/tesco.html
cause we have a chancellor as prime minister
thats what i was thinking to, well said.Around 70p (IIRC) of the price of fuel is tax. That's where most of the cost comes in.
we have expensive fuel because there is no alternative.
so far all i have seen is daft comments so i'm guess anyone with a solution is keeping quiet. if someone has a solution please dont keep it to yourself.
which fuel?the fuel i use in my van costs 49p litre so there is an alternative
they buy the oil at the higher price fair enough, but they dont wait untill the oil at the lower price has gone from the pump do they??? the bang the higher price straight on top of all of it...(a trick used in the steel industry too)i believe their argument is that they have paid the higher price previously for the oil and so sell it at the higher price. though with that thinking it wouldn't shoot up without warning all the time.
probably cherry diesel...the fuel i use in my van costs 49p litre so there is an alternative
conversion cost makes it more expensive than petrol in many situations (unless you keep your car for years) and in 2011 the tax is set to more than double.
From the OP's link...
"they are the first major retailer to incorporate biofuel into standard petrol and diesel with no extra cost to the consumer."
That's a bit of a porky. Tesco biodiesel is 95% diesel, 5% bio (value cooking oil?) and they charge 1p per litre MORE than for ordinary diesel.
