i have a problem which i need some help with

got light come up on dash in my fiat bravo 1.6 sx (V reg) looks like a spray can

all it says in manual is do not drive car!!!

i do mess about with cars n often pop down scrapyard

if anyone could shed some liht on this it would be great

Sounds like the injector warning light to me

Having had a dig around the forums it could also be a sensor warning light saying that the ECU has detected a value that is out of bounds (could be MAP sensor etc) and that it may leave an error code on the ECU that a reader can pick up; I think we need someone with knowledge about Bravo's now

that light should be thought of as the engine managent light. it illuminates when the ecu detects a fault. that could be any fault at all. if you do not have any symptoms to go with it then you cant easily diagnose it to determine the problem so you will need the help of a diagnostic machine such as the fiat examiner. this isnt cheap unfortunately.


on the 1.6 injector failure is very common, so it may be worth checking for that before you spend any money. all injectors should measure more than 14ohms (16.5 is best). any less than 13ohms need to be replaced (scrapyard injectors are £5-10 each usually). you can measure the resistance of all 4 injectors using the wiring connector at the right hand side of the fuel rail. plenty of detailed instructions are available in the bravo/brava section.
