Hello to all

Just a question, my gearbox has gone on my multipla and wanted to know if anybod can tell me whether a gearbox from a bravo/brava will fit in instead of finding a petrol one for my multipla?All answers gr8ly appreciated. Ta

all depends if the the engine is the same i suppose if the mountings are identical it should fit .

cheers for that i will ask at the garage too but they dont seem to have a clue lol i have no idea about it either as i am female lol thanks tho

another thing u could do is take the old gearbox to a gargage and send it off to be reconditioned it will be cheaper than a new box kk then again wot happened to teh box did it just stop working or did i do a big number on u and blow up

took it into the garage for the CV joint to get done and there was noise at the front end which when garage did whatever they do he said the teeth in the box have broken off.if that means owt to you cos it means nowt to me.gettin quoted ridiculous amounts for new box anyway so may look into gettin it re-conned ta

Yes re-con box or if u know wot ya doing visit the breakers yard and prehaps get a box from there if they hav your car in. did he say where the teeth where broke off ?

cheers.they didnt say where the teeth were broken off just that they were broken.looked at scrappies and breakers yards and cant get hold of a petrol gearbox for mine anywhere so re-con may be only option anyway,plus i have no ida what im doin lol

if you have a petrol multipla it must be the 1581cc 16v engine.

yes you can take a gearbox from any 1.6 bravo, brava or marea regardless of age. i'm not 100% sure if the 1.6 stilo uses the same box, but i'd be very surprised if it does not because it uses the same 1581cc engine. any fiat group vehicle using the 1581cc engine should be a suitable donor.
