Hi, im a complete amateur to the forums so hi first of all.

I had a recent accident which basically meant one of my steel rims got mashed.. :(
I noticed that the spare i had was a 14" , but then after looking around for a 15" steel rim for a punto, realised that 14" were the standard size. Basically now im looking for a 15" stee rim to match the other 3, but wondered if i had to get a particular type to fit a punto? its a 2000 Punto mk2 5dr 1.2. It may seem like a silly question but i just dont have a clue. I checked some local scrapyards to see if they had a punto steel rim but they all said no, probably because i was asking for a 15" rim.

Again sorry if this is a stupid question :(

Yer i understand that but my car has 15" rims and my spare is a 14". I found out that standard ones were 14" so i dont know why they have been changed before i purchased the vehicle. Just need a 15" steel rim that will fit a mk2 punto but i dont know what to look for.

hi mate
i think you will find the steel rims may not be std fiat
so look inside the inner face of the rim and look at the stamp that all rims have and see who's thay are.
you may find they are g.m or bmw
if they are fiat they are from a stilo or simular
hope this helps

Cheers for that. Gives me alot more options when looking online for a spare or down the local yard. :worship:

you cant use a GM or BMW wheel, only fiat use 4x98pcd wheels (well ok so do 4 stud alfas and lancias coz they are also fiat, and so did some old seats).

15" steel wheels in 4x98PCD wont be easy to find. steel wheels only cost £5 each at a scrapyard so for the sake of £20 i would fit a set of 14" wheels, which is what it should have.

i have a set of 14s with nearly new tyres that you can have for £20 if you're in the north east.

unfortunately im west mids, thanks for the offer tho, i think i may just get a new set, ill try autotrader spareparts request unless anyone has heard anything bad about them?

Expensive that's all I can say, well, they normally are.

With regards to the steel wheels - It's doubtful they're from a stilo as the tyres are generally too big and the ET is generally too high, which means the wheels foul on the inner arches/suspension components.

ET35 means the offset is 35mm, which is good. it must be between 35mm and 42mm for almost all fiats.

does this mean i can use any 15" rim with an offset of 35mm? or what else do i need to look for. thanks

offset is only one part of the puzzle.

you also need a 4 stud fitment with a pitch circle diameter (PCD) of 98mm.

the centrebore (hole in middle of wheel) is also important, it must be 58.1mm (or larger).

Will there be anything on my damaged rim, a code etc, indicating what car it was from? then i have an easier job finding a match.
