Punto Help

My gears do not seem to be catching, gear stick is floppy on my Punto 1.2 active. Is slightly going into 1st 2nd and 3rd, so a male neighbour said when he looked at it. Will not go in 4thth or reverse. last week someone had banged into the side, only got it back from a garage after repair work to the door and right wing on wednesday. Has anyone any idea what the fault is? Could the fault be linked to the garage repair work

sounds like a bent or loose linkage. go back to the garage and get it looked at, it should be an easy fix.

Rac have said it is linkage problem. Is it a possibility that linkage problem may have been caused by the bang into door. Only Bodywork repairs where done by the garage. If it is not a problem linked to the bang will repair work be covered under 3 rd year warranty.

the linkage is only held on with a ball joint so any impact can pop it off. with that in mind it may not be covered under warranty, however if you dont mention the accident i'm sure they'll fix it for free, especially because the linkage probably only needs to be pushed back on correctly.
