This probably isn't the correct place to post this question, but I'm just a Colonial, so what the hey!

I'm the guy with the '67 Fiat Abarth 100-OT undergoing restoration. Right now I'm still running the exhaust headers Dad used on his race cars - which consists of a stock exhaust that just curves to the rear of the car and exits on the left rear. I was going to say "Driver's Side" then I remembered that most of you drive on the wrong side...which is the right side....now I'm confused!!

Regardless of where the driver sits, this exhaust has no muffler - just a straight piece of 1" diameter tubing. The sound is great, but I'm concerned about the inherent restriction that 1 inch of tubing causes.

Now, it is of course possible to put the STOCK exhaust back on (it's in the storage room) but I was looking at the reversed exhaust that the early Spiders used. With that system, the headers join, then go FORWARD under the floorboards, then curve around and exit the rear of the car.

I'm considering installing this other system because it will give me space for a free-flow muffler, where there simply is not space for when using the stock header.

Has anyone tried this? Can you see any reason why it wouldn't work?

Thanks for your time....

Steve in Southern California.
