Thumbs up weekend break, ideas needed please

need your help guys and gals with a weekend break away somewhere

im going to take the lady away for a weekend (fri and sat night) in the easter break as shes off work then (trainee teacher) and shes got her exams etc out the way as shes working silly hours in and out of work atm, even more than me bless her so its going to be a treat and refresh her a bit, get here away from the house as shes cooped up every night and all the weekend.

so im after ideas of where to go, preferably we wont be on the road too long (im in kent) but dont want anything right on the door step, want things to do during the day (open to ideas and options etc) and in the evenings, good resteraunts and bars and clubs, not too expencive, but thats all subjective really. i could possibly do a jaunt across to france but ive got to sort my passport out between now and then (will be done in the next few days, but no guarantee how quick it will be done)

so what would you guys suggest?

Andy

How about Northern France somewhere?

Would have suggested the Lakes but it's maybe a bit to far up north since you in Kent.

hahaha thats a no go, shes not really a wander around the shops girl, shes a go knowing what you want and get done, im the bigger tart in that department, plus she only lives littearly 2 mins down the road from it

i had thought of brighton, but as i havent been there i dont really know whats available to do and hotel type things etc

Bunny, had thought about northern france, but as i said, i dont have a passport atm, and ive got a company car for the forseeable future (limited insurance and no continental cover) as Patch is off the road with a dead g'box, head gasket on the way out, no mot or tax so if i can get that sorted then yeah possibly, but where? lol

custard, i want to drive so we have more flexability from the point of view we wont have a fixed schedule like having to get the train / plane home, plus i hate hiring cars etc, partly because its a mare finding a company that will do it for a reasonable cost for a 22 year old
