Ok peeps, its Gumball time again! What i'd like to know is if anyone is free on Wednesday 5th of May and possibly Thursday 6th of May, for a convoy to Paris (Eiffel Tower to be exact) for the start!

Basically, you'll get to see many celebs, and their flash motors, so i'm defo booking that day(s) off work. Below i've pasted the official newsletter going about, so have a read and if you fancy taking the wife/girlfriend for a nice meal under the 'Eiffel, then consider it yourself! I'm hoping i can get at least 1 person to convoy with to stop me getting lost/starving/drowning/generally not making it back alive!

And now for the newsletter......

Paris-Marrakech-Barcelona-Cannes May 5-10th 2004 Cannes here we come!

Welcome back Gumball fans,

There are only 42 days to go until the chequered flag drops for the sixth annual
‘Gumball 3000 Rally’, so if you want to come to
the start line and cheer off your favourite Gumballers in their amazing cars,
now is the time to start making plans. The flag will
drop in Paris on Wednesday May 5th, where 165 amazing cars, stars and eccentrics
will embark on a 6-day ‘no holds barred’
experience, driving 3000 miles of a magical mystery tour.

'Supermodels, sporting heroes and Hollywood stars are on the grid for the most
glamorous car rally on the calendar'. The Times

With entrants including everyone from the legendary Burt Reynolds himself in a
70s Pontiac Trans Am (every Gumballers
hero!), to the Jackass and Viva La Bam motley crew in whatever cars they can
rustle up, and current music god ‘Pharrell
Williams’ putting his McLaren through its paces, its safe to say that this years
Gumball will cause a stir.

If you watched Johnny Knoxville and the rest of MTV’s Jackass’ crew when they
took part from London to Russia and back,
you have been warned. And if you didn’t, I suggest you prepare yourselves, as in
2004 they are back for more, and this time
they’re serious!

Being filmed once again for the ultimate reality ‘road trip’ movie, directed by
3 of the worlds most renowned directors, you will
be able to witness these ‘6 days of madness’ when it hits cinema screens around
the world later this year!

So, will Burt still be on the pace? Is Ryan Dunn the new Dom DeLouise? Will
Pharrell’s McLaren lead the pack or break down
on the Paris ring road? Will Jodie Kidd get lost in the desert? And will Johnny
Knoxville and Bam play any pranks to disrupt
Schuey’s concentration at the Spanish GP?

Only time will tell, so stay tuned to find out the breaking news and updates of
the cars and stars….. in this years ‘Gumball 3000’

So, maybe we could have a private Gumball to Paris? Kinda like the Portsmouth to Dakar fans do whilst the real Dakar Rally takes place :)

Btw, the start of the race is Wednesday 5th May, but as i don't know the time, travelling down on the Wednesday might be risky....

I will find out the start time anyway.

I can't afford the new windscreen wiper blade for my Porsche.

Sorry

My first signiture (a lot of thought put into it): If you can't find the switch to switch your fogs off I am sure I can help you! Damn fogs.

Getting back to the point now ;) Is anyone interested in driving to Paris to see the cars, watch the start, perhaps take the other half shopping/dinner?

I'm just interested in having someone to drive there with, when you get there, do as you please until we come back!

Just got a reply back from the Gumball people to do with the start time and destination.

The Gumball 3000 Rally this year starts on the afternoon of 5th May from under the Eiffel Tower & outside the Four Seasons George V Hotel.

Race to the 'Eiffel? :D

Ok, heres the deal. I intend to leave very early Wednesday morning, and taking the car train thingy, its costs £39 per car. Nothing is concrete yet, and i shall check ferry prices also, but for now, thats my (rough) plan.
