Wasnt busy the other day so decided to look around for a new car. Finishing uni this year so thought I should start to look for a new car to replace the sei. Looking for a sporty hatchback as im used to the sporty design features of my sporting. My list down came to:

Mini Cooper 1.6 :)
Great looking car, instant classic. My only prolbem with this is that im after extras like air conditioning and alloy wheels. Once you start to add these, the price rockets. Not sure what sort of wage I will be on when I leave uni so dont want to go to expensive straight away.

Citroen C2 VTS 1.6 :slayer:
All the extras that I had to pay extra for on all the other cars are included on this, such as aircon and 16" alloy wheels. Sporty looks. Fancied the Saxo VTS last year but had problems with the Sei, otherwise I would have one now. Low insurance group.

VW Polo GTI :(
Not sure as it has an ageing look for me, still similar to the shape ten years ago. Great quality but again pay a lot extra for extras.

Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 (n)
Didnt like the look or feel of the car. Mini-focus, felt cheap. Boring looks.

Had a look at all the cars over the day. Most impressed with the mini, but very expensive for the equipment that I wanted. The C2 was the next best in my opinion. Spoke to normanski who also went from a Sei to the C2 he recommended the change too. Spoke to the dealer and showed him my car, he offered £1400 part exchange, I was amazed but definatly not complaining about that. Gonna wait until spring as I will have a better picture of what I will be earning. I love the Sei but the engine just doesnt have enough poke if you know what I mean. Im also sick of having a dodgy handbrake and worrying about the clutch cable. So think im going to go for the C2 VTS (y)

Been visiting this site to find out more info about the C2

I think you've picked the best out of the bunch there, i like the mini's but they're common and getting a bit boring now, ive always hated ford with a passion (unless its oldschool baby lol) polo's are slow for what they are and do look a bit ageing, so that leaves the C2 which is the best out of the bunch but thye only colours ive seen in the interiors is orange :yuck: If its the right price go for it, but haggle a service if you buy from a dealership if it hasnt had a really recent one

Jordan: The VTS only comes with a black interior if I remember correctly.

Dave: I ignore car stereotypes as they dont mean anything in the real world. I dont like the look of Punto's or Panda's both aimed at the more mature market.

Im after a New car so that rules out the Cinq and in my opinion the Panda looks awful as its not sure what it wants to be. 4x4/sort of -hot hatch/family car, see what I mean. What next a BoatPanda - Enjoy on the beach or even in the sea.

Some Stats:
Panda 1.4 100hp (0-60 = 9.5) Top- 115mph
Mini 1.6 118hp (0-60 = 9.1) Top- 126mph
C2 VTS 1.4 123hp (0-60 = 8.3) Top- 126mph

Never saw that before, but it proves the point! Better to be great at one thing, and not mediocre at lots of things.

The mini cooper isnt a particluarly fast car, it got whipped by the Fabia VRS DIESEL on top gear!

Adrian

Very good car's too, i had been considering one until i saw the insurance and cried, damn my youthfulness, damn it to hell :(

As I said before, im after a Brand New Car. I dont want the worry of not knowing who's driven/thrashed it before me.

Forgot about the suzuki Swift, will have to look into that one. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Your a fool to buy brand new. But hey at least you get that nice ''new'' smell and all the teething niggles and problems new cars have.
