Hiya guys and gals

It's Chrissy's birthday in a couple of weeks and she needs a new MP3 player or something similar, but nothing too expensive. Something between £50 and £100 will do her because she uses it a lot while walking and it'll need to take a bit of a pounding if you get my meaning. It'll also need to store quite a few songs, her present one only has about 20 mp3 capacity and it's nowhere near enough.
Seeing as I have never needed one myself (i'm always in the car or on the pc etc) I ain't got the foggiest what I should be looking at getting her, value for money wise.

Anyone got any good suggestions please ?

There's a few good Philips mp3 players out there, they're around £100. I'd find some examples but my connection is ****-poor tonight.

Steer clear of Ipods, they're pants (IMO). Try to stick to decent brand names as they're usually straight forward to use, I'll make a small list of companies to have a look at their products;

my sisters got a ZEN, never had no problems with it!

we used to always have problems with the old ipod and connecting to the computer, seems if you arent running mac then the ipods an arse

id buy an ipod nano they are really good

my ipod is (well was hehe) absolutly fine with my dell laptop

Tesco have a limited edition pink 2gig MP3 player for £59.99

edit - what about an Archos 3 gig player (hold 1500 songs), thats been reduced from £125.99, to £89.99
