FOR MY 200th POST
Here is a quick review of my experiences of driving a  Diablo
Ever since I was a kid I always had a Lamborghini poster on my wall, Ferraris just didn't match up. First it was the Countach and then the Diablo and now the Murchilago. In fact I have been quoted as saying given the choice of half an hour to play with a Diablo or half an hour to play with Angellina Jolie, the car always wins. So when I got a hire one for half a day, Lets just say I was a bit excited
Driving Position:
If like me you have short legs and long arms you will love the car. Long legged people will strugle to reach the steering wheel.
Manovering:
Right once in and started up and after cleaning up the mess from hearing the 500bhp V12 start up right behind your head it's time to get moving.
First thing to point out is that it is wider at the back than the front, the back is wider than the Multipla !!!!
Driving:
The gearbox takes a bit of getting used too, It is a 5 speed but first is bottom left and reverse is top left. So I had to be carefull not to put it into reverse when starting off.Saying that the gears are longer than I expected.Actual power can not be described you are just thrown back in your seat in every gear.
For example I was in 4th doing 50mph floored it and found I was doing 120 in seconds but still only at 4500rpm ( not on a public road of course )
So my dream day came to an end and I had to leave the car behind
In fact they are selling the car as they naw have a new 2006 Gallaro ordered
The company also hires other exotics - http://www.supercarexperiences.com/...akeside_Essex/Ferrari_360_Modena_F1-hire.html
Would I own one ? yes
Could I drive it everyday? no just not practical
Now if the Mrs and kids could live in the Multipla I could sell the house and get one !!!!
