I've recently bought a 1997 Fiat Cinquecento Soleil (basically
identical to the SX model. However the past owner didn't have
an owner's handbook so I'm left to my own devices to work out
things like the dashboard lights etc.

Does anyone know of any websites that explain this sort of
thing or similar.

Specifically, the Soleil doesn't have an engine temperature
gauge - but it does have a red temp icon in the far right - I
don't understand how this works - does it get brighter with
increasing temperature or what?

The icon is on practically always but is quite dim most of the
time. Does this indicate a problem or is this how the icon is
supposed to work?

Many thanks in advance,
John.

Best bet is to go to the dealers and buy a handbook, they are only six quid or so. I had to get one for mine.

According to the book, if the light comes on it means the car is overheating (or you may need a new sensor)

Pete.
