What Glue?

What Glue?

For what purpose? It all depends on what it's for. If it's something... Dodgy... I don't want to know...
A bit complicated. Need to watch the valve rockers on the top of a Land Rover engine, while turning the engine over, which can only be done from underneath. Got a webcam from Maplin with a tripod mount, but the mount thread is M6 metric instead of 1/4 UNC. Genius! Tripod screw is moulded onto a 12mm ball to pivot. Hobbycraft had a bag of 12mm wooden beads. So a M6 screw with the head cut off, a thread tapped into the centre of the bead, and I've got a swivelling mount that fits and works well. Done the job, worked brilliantly, with laptop under car, but screw not fixed, so need to make permanent.
Does that pass the "Dodgy" test?

i think araldite would be best
Thanks for that, a good shout. I think my araldite may have gone off. Will have to buy some new and mix up the tiniest amount. Another challenge to keep me busy.

Camera mounts and laptops, mounted in strange places - all normal for a SN postcode:D

TBH - your araldite will still work fine - you can actually WARM it to make it run better;)
 if you cut / shape the inner thread end to a "chisel-tip" - even just cut a slot in the end.. , ( rather than "square")
there will be a solid wedge-shaped lump of set Araldite in the base, that should stop it unscrewing.
