I look to you Fiatisti's for assistance in doing some mystery-ing around with our Vauxhall Meriva.

Its pretty much brand new, but has had water leaking in from somewhere. When it's been driven water has poured out the vents in the roof, the windows are misted up, the carpets are soaked through.

We assumed it was a warranty job because it is so new, but have been informed that if they cannot source the leak we're liable for paying for the work, so after they've done £600 of work trying to find it, and got nothing, people are getting understandably worried!

Any thoughts on where this could come from or what to suggest?

Condolences - this sounds like a nightmare!

If a franchised dealer has spent six hours getting nowhere, it's a challenge to come up with a constructive diagnosis just by sitting at a keyboard, but logic would suggest it's somewhere high up if it's coming through the roof vents.

And folks say Fiat dealers are bad!!

No way would I be paying for this; in fact by now I'd likely be thinking about rejecting the car & suing the dealer for damages.

In the final analysis, it wouldn't matter what the dealer is, or isn't prepared to pay for, because that decision would be taken by a County Court Judge.

+1 on the handing it back.., :)

IF they fix it,
you'll have a MUCH worse likelyhood of corrosion , and dodgy wiring in the coming years - not worth the risk..,
