Hey guys.. Been a while!

To cut a long story short the GF's car suffered a suspension failure this evening.. Something I hadn't heard of before.. The stub axle snapped right where the ball joint sits causing it to completely drop and pop the drive shaft out etc.

Its an old 2002 206cc but after I did some digging I found out there is a recall for a manufacturing defect for both stub axels.

Now.. I've already had the car recovered once for this fault so can't get it recovered again.

Are they obliged to pick up the car from my address? I know the easiest way to find out is to go in and see if they will but going from past experiences with dealers I'd rather go in being as informed as possible in case they start being awkward.

Anyone know? Can't find anyone in this position after a Google trawl.

Plan B would be to buy one, fit it and drive it in for the recall and resell it (if they'll give me it back)

Luckily it happened at pretty much standstill and not 70 mph!

I'd advise anyone with a Peugeot 206 to check up on this recall, so if you know anyone.. Let them know!

Cheers

I'm not sure how you would get on with this, essentially if you left it till it broke then presented it for the recall they might not be obliged to do anything.
They almost certainly won't be required at all to recover the car as the car could have been drive to have the work done earlier.

If I were you I'd talk to Peugeot uk and not the dealer, make an agreement with them then get it in to the local dealer

Cheers, no it hasn't been done I called this morning. Hubs don't just wear out and snap unless like the current one it suffered a manufacturing defect.

I've already been onto Peugeot UK who are getting back to me about getting it recovered.

I realise it has been driven until broke but as it's such a serious and dangerous fault I reckon they will want to sort it save it going public.. Fingers crossed
