Car Room 101

Car Room 101

I'm actually thrilled these little things are so popular - makes you think more people would appreciate it if you actually had one too.

I delivered parcels to a chap who had a little Suzuki Kei car he'd had imported, and he was thrilled when I asked about it, and showed me all around and chatted for ages about how it was the best car he'd ever had, and was planning on running it for as long as possible.
Also had 4 306GTIs, and a Porsche 911 (maybe some letters who knows). Bizarre collection.

Someone I knew had a Nissan S-Cargo, which he'd had a coffee machine built into the back of, and used it as a coffee van. The gearbox broke on it, so he ended up towing it to events behind a Serena and later on, a Transit. I don't know if he still has it these days.

The S-Cargo is a truly terrible van!!! Saw a video on YouTube where a guy shows all its features. Just when I thought the Italians really went against the status quo! Lol

We've had some, but no one bought them. Mitsubishi I-miev (petrol powered I) and Subaru Vivio spring to mind, seem to remember the cappuccino was officially imported as well but was getting on for mx 5 money. Oh and technically the Suzuki Alto is Kei car...

They don't seem to make the cool ones anymore either so they are pretty much cubes these days though if anyone knows any cool current ones then I'd be happy to be corrected.

Which Alto was that? The 1 that was also sold as the Nissan Pixo?

Anything more recent is Indian.

That looks too big to be a Kei car?

The limit is 3.4m which is about the size of a C1/Aygo/107. The alto we got was the maruti version so the bumpers are a little bigger and it's slightly longer also the engine is too big...but the metal work is the same.

Mitsubishi I (or Peugeot ion) or Suzuki wagon R (Vauxhall agila!) are probably the other ones you may have seen other than those and are closer to true Japanese spec.

All Audi's particularly A5's and Q7's and their horrid drivers, most BMW's and most Mercedes Benz's as they are driven by blind people and often thugs. This is my opinion of course. My Panda, Percy's opinion is totally unprintable!

New addition:

Any car for sale today in the U.K. Available with the option of wind. up. bloody. windows.

WHY?! IT PROBABLY COSTS VERY LITTLE TO MAKE THIS STANDARD.

The big makes all do it... it's so annoying to me. Especially given the prices, bar the Sandero with its very low price, there's no excuse!

Erm which manufacturers, even vw give electric windows on the base up...and everyone else's small cars tend to be better equipped.

Unless your talking about rear windows which are not much use on a car with AC/climate. Other than being able to lock the windows to stop passengers messing with them and opening them from time to time so they don't stick they really don't do a lot.

Not so long ago.. VW had wind ups. So did Ford. It must be very recently they've changed.. which is a move for the better.. but shocking that after 2010 this was a thing!

I will research to find some that still do.. hopefully None

I may be wrong at the smaller end of the scale but we're looking at replace the ds3 with a 5 door petrol equivalent at the moment and the starting point for most cars seems to be remote central locking, front electric windows e.t.c. e.t.c. then the next trim up will add AC, cruise control and some jazzier wheels and trim. Next one up again adds climate and even jazzier wheels and trim, possibly nav and keyless entry and all round leccy windows depending on the car.

To be fair even mid range cars provide a lot these days, think we were looking at the most expensive new C3 they do other than a 110bhp petrol not a diesel and it's high 15s before discount and has more toys than you could ever need.
